FOCUS ON JAISWAL AND JUREL – RR vs LSG IPL 2024

 Yashasvi Jaiswal has played for Rajasthan Royals since 2020 and this is his fifth season with the franchise, Similarly, Dhruv Jurel has been with Royals since 2022 onwards but the spotlight on both of them is intense this year after their stupendous performance against England in the Test Series.

KL Rahul has been in the news in the recent past more for his injuries than his playing. Paddikal also had a good debut in the English series.

Both teams seem to have a good lineup with strong players. Sanju Sampson has won the toss and decided to bat first. The crowd is palpable with excitement at expected Jaiswal heroics.

IPL 2024 auction, December 19, 2023 at Coca Cola Arena, Dubai

The IPL 2024 auction was held on December 19, 2023, at Coca Cola Arena, Dubai. The auction was held outside India for the first time. The ten IPL teams (franchises) had a combined purse of INR 262.95 crore (USD 31.58 million approx.) available to spend at this auction. This was the highest combined purse available for any mini-auction till now. A total of 333 players (capped and uncapped) for 77 available slots (30 overseas) were ready to be filled up at this auction. When Hardik Pandya came into the ground for the toss he was booed. The booing was so bad that Sanjay Manjrekar had to ask the crowd to behave. But this booing set the tone of the evening. Sampson won the toss and decided to field first. Trent Boult started the attack with the new ball. He took 2 wickets in the last two balls and that also wickets of Rohit Sharma and Naman Dheer. For MI, the match seemed to get over at the end of this over. They never recovered from this loss. They kept losing wickets at short intervals. All the batters barring Pandya and Tilak Verma put up no resistance to RR Bowling attack.  Nobody created an impact on RR bowlers. Both RR bowling and fielding was superb today.
