IPL fans, get ready! The IPL 2024 schedule is out!

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the IPL 2024 schedule on 22nd February. The tournament will begin with defending champion Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai on March 22. The schedule was announced for the first 21 matches. IPL 2024 is finally here

 IPL Chairman, Arun Dhumal, in an interview with PTI (Press Trust of India), announced that the IPL 2024 edition is likely to commence on March 22. He also said that all the matches would be played in India despite the general election dates coinciding with the tournament dates. He revealed that in the beginning only the first 15 days schedule will be declared and the rest of the schedule will be declared after the declaration of the election dates by the Election Commission of India. In previous editions of IPL, when the tournament coincided with the general elections, the tournament was shifted abroad. The 2009 edition was held entirely in South Africa. In the 2014 edition, 20 matches were held in UAE due to the ongoing elections. But in 2019, the entire tournament was held in India along with the General elections.
